A Taste of Tradition – Our Culinary Concept
At Restaurant Alter Tobelhof, we don’t believe in culinary experiments. We stay true to our roots – and to the dishes our guests have loved for decades. You can count on our mixed salad being just that: a real salad, without fancy additions or unusual dressings. Our Zürcher Geschnetzeltes tastes the way it always has, and our Rösti is still prepared the traditional way.
We cook without artificial additives, E-numbers or flavor enhancers – and focus instead on natural ingredients, traditional methods and honest flavors. Every dish is meant to taste just the way you remember it: honest, down-to-earth and full of memories.
Of course, seasonal specialties have their place – but even here, we keep the spotlight on real Swiss classics.
Our main menu
Our main menu is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. It combines timeless classics with seasonal highlights and offers a diverse selection of starters, main courses, and desserts – honest, down-to-earth, and prepared with love.
Our afternoon menu
Our afternoon menu is available from 1:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. onwards. It offers a selection of cold and warm savory classics, as well as our full dessert menu. Perfect for a late lunch, a snack after a walk, or an early/late dinner—whatever your mood takes.
Our children's menu
Our children's menu offers a selection of child-friendly dishes, as well as a seasonal porridge for the little ones. Every children's meal comes in the famous Mickey Mouse plate, with a portion of healthy vitamins in the ears. This makes the food not only delicious but also fun and healthy – for happy children and relaxed parents.
Our wine list
Our wine list features a carefully selected selection of Swiss and international wines, including a variety of wines available by the glass. We proudly collaborate with our two main suppliers, Adrian & Diego Mathier from Salgesch, and Landolt Weine AG. While our focus is on Swiss wines, select international wines complement the selection – the perfect accompaniment to every dish.
Our banquet menu
Our banquet menu is aimed at private and business groups of 16 or more adult guests and offers a selection of multi-course menus, classic dishes, and individual dishes. Our offerings also include aperitif snacks and aperitif riche suggestions, perfect for social occasions. Whether a festive menu, a casual aperitif, or a customized selection – we ensure a thoroughly successful culinary experience.
Our dog menu
Depending on the season, our dog menu offers a selection of delicious and wholesome dishes for our four-legged guests – from cervelat and boiled chicken strips with rice to the popular dog ice cream.
